North Star Microschool is a non-traditional,  alternative learning center nestled in the Foothills of the Front Range in Longmont, Colorado serving grades Kindergarten- 3rd grade and operated by a Colorado-certified educator. 

The program, by design, has a one-room schoolhouse quality. Students are grouped by academic readiness and ability with plenty of individualized instruction.

Outdoor play and exploration are strongly emphasized along with many opportunities to engage in personalized interests. The program is enrichment-based offering instruction in Spanish Language, Music, Art, and Cooking in addition to Horseback Riding, Swimming, and Chess. Learning is student-led and choice is an important part of the educational process.

One of the best things about NSM is that the setting is relaxed and students are supported in their socio-emotional development. Interactions with peers are a primary focus of the learning. The small size fosters close student relationships and offers a safe haven for exploring social dynamics.
